American forward Josh Sargent appears to be closing in on a transfer from English club Norwich City to Major League Soccer's Toronto FC. Reports indicate a fee has been agreed between the clubs.

Sargent had previously expressed his desire to leave Norwich last month and was subsequently excluded from the first-team squad. He has been training separately with the club's U21 side amid reported disagreements with the coaching staff.

According to the Daily Mail's Simon Jones, the deal is set at an initial £15.5 million. The 26-year-old striker originally joined Norwich from German side Werder Bremen in August 2021.

During his time at Norwich, Sargent made 157 appearances across all competitions, scoring 56 goals and providing 14 assists.
