BOSTON — Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum made an emotional return to the TD Garden court, walking hand-in-hand with his son after a 298-day absence due to a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Tatum suffered the severe injury in the 2025 playoffs, leading to immediate surgery and months of intense rehabilitation. "There was a lot of uncertainty," Tatum admitted, reflecting on the doubt he faced about his future in basketball.

His comeback was marked by pre-game cheers from a jersey-clad crowd. After a slow start, Tatum's first dunk helped him relax, and he finished the game with 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assists in a Celtics victory.

"I'm really just happy I even got to this point," said Tatum, expressing gratitude for being back on the floor. Coach Joe Mazzulla praised Tatum's dedication throughout the recovery process.

With the successful return behind him, Tatum is now focused on helping the Celtics contend in the Eastern Conference, stating confidently, "Yeah, we've got a plan."
