During the final round of the Masters, the 2017 champion Sergio Garcia found himself in the center of a controversy that led to an official code of conduct warning. Playing alongside Jon Rahm, Garcia hit a wayward tee shot to the right on the second hole, triggering a reaction that caught the attention of tournament officials.
The Incident on the Second Tee
According to reports, Garcia's frustration boiled over immediately following the shot. The golfer proceeded to strike the tee box with his club before swinging at a cooler. The force of the impact was significant enough to snap the head off his driver. In a bizarre turn of events, he then briefly carried Jon Rahm’s golf bag down the fairway.
