According to a police affidavit, Tiger Woods was looking at his phone and changing the radio station moments before his vehicle collided with a truck trailer in Florida on Friday afternoon. The 15-time major golf champion was also found with two hydrocodone pain pills in his pocket.

Officers at the scene reported Woods showed several signs of impairment, including lethargic movements, bloodshot eyes, and dilated pupils. He agreed to a field sobriety test, during which he was observed limping and stumbling. Woods cited his history of multiple back and leg surgeries as a factor.

A deputy concluded Woods' faculties were impaired and arrested him on suspicion of DUI. A breathalyzer test showed a 0.000 alcohol level, but he refused a urine test. He was later released on bond. This incident follows Woods' 2017 arrest related to prescription medication and a serious 2021 solo crash.
