Star junior guard Kymora Johnson is reportedly entering the NCAA transfer portal in the wake of Virginia's surprising decision to fire head coach Amaka Agugua-Hamilton, according to On3.

Johnson, who led the Cavaliers with 19.5 points and 5.9 assists per game last season, was instrumental in the team's NCAA tournament run. She scored 28 points in upset wins over Georgia and Iowa before the team fell to TCU in the Sweet Sixteen.

The coaching change came as an initial surprise after the tournament success, but reports later indicated Agugua-Hamilton was under internal investigation for alleged staff mistreatment. She compiled a 70-58 record over four seasons at Virginia.

Johnson has been a standout since her freshman year, starting every game and improving her stats each season. It is unclear if the investigation or coaching change directly influenced her transfer decision. As one of the top guards available, she is expected to draw significant interest from other programs.
