The tallest basketball player in NCAA history is exploring new opportunities. Florida Gators center Olivier Rioux has entered the transfer portal following a sophomore season with limited playing time.
Rioux, 20, confirmed his decision on Instagram, expressing gratitude to the team and its supporters. He appeared in only 11 games this past season, averaging 0.6 points and 0.5 rebounds in just 1.5 minutes per contest.
His entry into a game in November made him the tallest player ever to appear in a college basketball contest. While his role was primarily in mop-up duty, he had a brief highlight with 2 points, 2 rebounds, and an assist in two minutes during a blowout win.
Prior to Florida, Rioux was a prominent player for Canadian amateur FIBA teams, earning two bronze medals in international competition.
