A Career Milestone on the Track
Frankie Muniz, widely recognized for his iconic role in the hit sitcom Malcolm in the Middle, is making significant strides in his transition from Hollywood to professional racing. While currently competing full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Muniz has expanded his 2026 racing calendar to include the GT4 America series.
During the season opener at Sonoma Raceway, Muniz teamed up with driver Tyler Stone to pilot a Ford Mustang for TechSport Racing. The duo achieved a breakthrough performance, securing second place in the Am class and finishing 19th overall. They continued their strong form in the weekend’s second race, claiming fourth in their class and narrowly missing a second consecutive podium appearance.
Reflecting on Success
Expressing his excitement following the race, Muniz took to social media to share his emotions regarding this achievement:
«You have no idea how much this means to me. First podium after YEARS of grinding for this moment. Standing on that stage, spraying champagne with the trophy in hand... man, I can't explain how good it feels! This one's for everyone who's believed in the journey.»
The driver also expressed gratitude toward his team and manufacturer, noting that his experience with the GT4 machinery was limited to just two days of practice before the event. He remains optimistic about his prospects for the remainder of the championship.
Future Racing Commitments
The GT4 America series is set to continue its season at the Circuit of the Americas from April 24-26. The 2026 calendar will also feature iconic venues, including:
- Sebring International Raceway
- Road Atlanta
- Road America
- Barber Motorsports Park
- Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course
Muniz intends to contest the full season alongside Tyler Stone. Before returning to GT4 action, Muniz will continue his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series campaign, with his next start scheduled for this weekend at Rockingham. This appearance will mark his 30th career start in the series, as he looks to improve upon his 23rd-place finish at the track from the previous year.
