Arizona Wildcats head coach Tommy Lloyd has agreed to a new five-year contract extension, the university confirmed. The deal, announced ahead of the Final Four, will keep Lloyd at Arizona through the 2030-31 season.
According to reports, the contract will start at $7.2 million next season, averaging about $7.5 million annually. It includes significant performance bonuses, increased staff salary pool funding, and grants Lloyd additional operational independence.
Lloyd's commitment comes despite speculation linking him to the head coaching vacancy at the University of North Carolina. He praised UNC but firmly recommitted to Arizona, denying reports of contact with Michael Jordan.
The extension coincides with Arizona's first Final Four appearance since 2001. Under Lloyd, the Wildcats have been a consistent top-four NCAA tournament seed and are enjoying a dominant season with only two losses.
Lloyd now focuses on preparing the top-seeded Wildcats for their national semifinal matchup against Michigan on Saturday.
